9th MAP Seminar Report

Speaker: Dr. Okura Yasuko, Dr. Li yaqiang and Dr. Isoyama Satoshi

We conducted our 9th MAP seminar on June 10, 2022.

15 Members participated in this seminar.

 

The first speaker was Dr. Okura Yasuko.

Her research topic is “Neuroprotective effects of Magnesium in cardiac arrest model of rats”

She used SD rats to make the cardiac arrest model and after treatment of Magnesium she checked the extracellular glutamate level. We learned a lot about the animal model making as well as some techniques about basic experiments.

The audiences actively joined in the discussion part and raised a lot of interesting questions.

Professor Morimatsu gave answers to the questions in detail to help the students better understand the research content.

 

The second speaker was Dr. Li yaqiang.

The topic of his research was “The protective effect of Carbamazepine on hemorrhagic shock and resuscitation induced Acute lung injury in rats”

He used SD rats to make the hemorrhagic shock and resuscitation model, after that he examined pathological analysis, wet weight to dry weight ratio of lung tissue, neutrophil count, inflammatory factor assay, and lung tissue autophagy-related protein assay to find out the relationship between carbamazepine and inflammation as well as autophagy.

The audiences felt interested in this research, they gave many good suggestions and questions.

 

The third speaker was Dr. Isoyama Satoshi

The topic of his research was “Relationship between partial carbon dioxide pressure and strong ions in humans: A retrospective study”

He conducted a retrospective study on the relationship between pCO2 and SID as well as other strong ion concentrations. Separately he set three datasets and made analyses. This is a very new and interesting subject, professor gave a high evaluation. This research is helpful for clinical work.

 

During the MAP seminar, three speakers made an excellent presentations in English, sharing their currently work and achieved results, meanwhile, the audiences took an active part in the discussion about the research, and they learned a lot about the clinical as well as basic researches.

Professor Morimatsu carefully analyzed each study, and answered everyone’s doubts about the current studies, helping researchers and students to better understand.

All the participators communicated and learned in a relaxed and pleasant environment. We are highly looking forward to the next MAP seminar.
